The Sixteen and Leeds Cathedral Choir

On the 2nd and 3rd of November Leeds Cathedral Choir were delighted to host members of international chamber choir The Sixteen and their talent development programme, Genesis Sixteen for a weekend of workshops culminating in a sharing of their work.

Our Senior Boys, Senior Girls, Schools Scholars and Choral Scholars enjoyed an intense two days of rehearsal and performance, with input from members of The Sixteen, Genesis Sixteen alumni, Sixteen Associate Conductor Eamonn Dougan and our team of Choral Directors. It included singing Duruflé’s Requiem at the Cathedral’s All Souls’ Mass, rehearsals for the whole choir, sectionals, small consort and ensemble groups, and some individual coaching, ending with a fabulous performance conducted by Eamonn and Tom, featuring music by Anerio, Duruflé and Mozart, as well as two stunning performances from the octet of professional singers and a solo from Leeds Cathedral Choral Scholar and current Genesis Sixteen member, Temi Lasekan.
