New Cathedral Organist at Leeds

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Benjamin Newlove as Leeds Cathedral Organist. Benjamin is currently Director of Music at the Royal Church of St. Alfege, Greenwich, and maintains a busy schedule as a harpsichordist, organist, and conductor. In addition to his performing career, he is a PhD student at the University of Edinburgh, specialising in the choral music of Tallis and Byrd.
A prizewinning master’s graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, he previously studied at King’s College London, the Royal Academy of Music, and Chetham’s School of Music. Benjamin is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists, the Royal School of Music, Trinity College London, and the Royal Society of Arts.
Benjamin says, “I am absolutely delighted to be appointed Leeds Cathedral Organist and to join the vibrant musical community of the Diocese of Leeds. I am excited to contribute to the cathedral’s outstanding musical heritage and to be part of its inspiring liturgical, educational, and concert programme.”
