Cathedrals Group Choir Festival 2017
The Cathedrals Group Choir Festival is a festival of choral music involving choirs from 14 universities from across the country accompanied by Skipton Camerata Brass; a 14-piece brass ensemble. The concert will see a fantastic performance from the massed choir of 250 singers perform Tu es Petrus by Sir James MacMillan and Salisbury Vespers by Bob Chilcott. Each choir will also perform their own individual piece of music and be supported by organist Thomas Leech.

About the Cathedrals Group of Universities
The Cathedrals Group of Universities are all based in the UK and have a shared commitment to serving the public good that springs from our faith-based values. As Chairperson of The Cathedrals Group, Leeds Trinity Universities Vice-Chancellor Professor Margaret House, chairs a group representative of more than 100,000 students enrolled in Member institutions.
As part of the group, choirs from the different institutions come together to meet each other and share their love of choral music at the annual Choirs Festival. In 2013, the group celebrated its 25th Anniversary, with 250 singers drawn from 11 Cathedrals Group Universities to perform in Birmingham. Earlier in 2016 the event was hosted in Winchester, and in 2017 – in our 50th Anniversary year – Leeds Trinity University will host the annual choir festival in Leeds.
